I always think that buying a mouse is probably one or the more personal hardware choices anyone will make – After all, we all have hands of different shapes and sizes, and we all doubtless have a slightly different way of using input devices. This makes giving out recommendations for parts such as this rather a tricky process, especially given that it’s usually hard to get the opportunity to “try before you buy” with these things.

Having said that, I’ll do my best to outline my own thoughts on OCZ’s Dominatrix here, and to be honest it includes what I’d call an excellent feature set considering its £25 price including VAT in the UK. For starters, the ability to weigh the mouse down with “ballast” is an excellent addition to the part, as there’s nothing worse than having a mouse that’s too heavy or too light sliding around your desk, and the Dominatrix make getting the initial “feel” of the mouse simple by letting you add weights and distribute them across the tail-end of the mouse as you see fit. The inclusion of DPI and profile selection buttons on the mouse is also a good one, with the former in particular proving to be most useful when switching between applications which may be more comfortable with a different DPI setting from what you were doing previously. This is followed through by the simple but effective nature of the bundled software, making customising buttons five and six with anything from a simple command to a complex macro simplicity itself, while giving you an even wider range of DPI settings to play with that can be configured individually for both the X and Y axis. Throw in the four-way scroll wheel that the Dominatrix features and I can’t think of much to complain about in this discipline. OCZ Dominatrix @ Elite Bastards

Before I get to general usage and such, I want to clear something up. Perhaps I misunderstood Logitech‘s marketing of this product, but I was under the impression that this was “the perfect companion to your flat screen” – as in, flat screen television. After testing, however, I now assume they meant your flat screen computer monitor. The reason I say this is because of the operating range (or lack of) of the keyboard and mouse. I first tested this combo with my HTPC and right away discovered that the unit had a poor range. About 4′ out from the receiver, the pair no longer made a connection with the receiver. I don’t know about you, but I don’t sit 4′ in front of my television. Logitech Cordless Desktop S520 @ Overclock Intelligence Agency

Overall my experience with the Razer Destructor has been great; however you will need to make sure you have the desktop real estate for a mouse pad this big. The mouse tracks extremely well on this surface and I have tested everything from a $5 optical mouse to my Logitech G-9. The hard sell here is going to be the price; $40 for a mouse pad might be tough to swallow. If you are serious about gaming or your mouse tracking is important to you – possibly desktop editors – then you will want to have the best. The Razer Destructor is the best mouse pad on the market.

The Razer Piranha supports most operating systems and is even internet telephony compatible. The Piranha Communicator’s sound is incredible. Delivering crisp highs, and deep lows I have been using these headphones every single day since receiving them for this review. Also, listening to music or using them while watching movies the Razer Piranha Communicator Headset just shines. I can honestly say I love the Razer Piranha Communicator headset. Priced about $60 the Razer Piranha is well worth the price tag. Read more @ 3DXtreme.
