So, did the V8 get the job done? You bet it did! This latest Cooler Master offering easily tamed the Q6600, doing especially well when the processor was overclocked and overvolted. The V8 outperformed all the coolers in the comparison, although not by much in a couple of cases. Frankly, I expected a bit better performance out of a cooler of this immense size, particularly at full fan speed. But, there’s no question that this is a very good cooling solution. The Cooler Master V8 also has a very distinctive look. I like the innovative use of eight heatpipes, four finned units and a center-mounted fan to maximize performance, but these features also give the V8 an impressive stance and overall look.
